I-9 & Employment Eligibility

I-9 Verification is required by all Employees

Your employment is contingent upon your ability to establish both identity and employment eligibility as required by the Immigration and Reform and Control Act of 1986. As a new employee, you are required by federal law to complete the USCIS Form I-9 on or before your first date of employment. You must provide acceptable documentation of identity and eligibility to work in the United States consistent with the federal and state government’s regulations. Once you have been officially hired by the university you will receive an email notification from Human Resources directing you to click on the link to complete the Form I-9 electronically. If you are unable to complete the form electronically, as a part of your first day visit to Human Resources, please bring all necessary forms of identification to successfully fulfill this federally-mandated obligation. Social Security Card

Please note that the University strongly recommends that each employee present his/her original Social Security card to assure accurate payroll tax and retirement system reporting. If possible, please bring your original Social Security card, or official proof of application, when you visit the Human Resources department for your initial employment processing. If you are unable to locate your card, you may apply for a duplicate card by visiting your local Social Security Administration.  Employee Guide to ITS
On Line Modules

New employees are asked to complete several on-line training modules within the first 30 days of employment to familiarize themselves with the University, its benefits and services, as well as employment policies and procedures.

New employees will receive directions from Learning and Organizational Development on how to complete these when they are contacted for New Employee Orientation. 

Environmental Health and Safety will also contact new employees with a checklist of required training and directions for completion.

Employee Retirement Status

Retirement Status is required by all Employees

Retirees may be subject to earnings restrictions upon returning to work. State return-to-work laws require suspension of retirement benefits when earnings from applicable employers exceed the allowable limit. All employees must complete form ESRR certifying their retirement status.
