Sick leave accrues at the rate of 8 hours per month or 96 hours per year for all permanent full-time employees entitled to sick leave. Sick leave for permanent part-time employees working half-time or more is computed as a percentage of the accrual for full-time employees.
The vacation/annual leave accrual rates for permanent full-time employees entitled to leave are provided below. Vacation/annual leave for permanent part-time employees working half-time or more is computed as a percentage of the accrual for full-time employees.
a. Employees Subject to the Human Resources Act (SHRA)
Less than 5 years
5 but less than 10 years
10 but less than 15 years
15 but less than 20 years
20 years or more
b. Employees Exempt from the Human Resources Act (EHRA)

c. The Financial Services Payroll Section is responsible for leave accountability and provides a monthly report of earned leave to each department and office for review and use as appropriate.
d. Leave entitlement and accrual rates are determined by the Benefits Director.
